MILLER-TETRICK, MANDATORY PAYOUT HIGHLIGHT SUNDAT POMPANO CARD
Pompano Beach, Florida, Friday, March 1, 2019…Pompano Park is readying for a “Super, Send-It-In” Blockbuster 12 race card on Sunday night as the South Florida track will feature a mandatory payout of the Super Hi-5 along with the Miller-Tetrick Team Challenge.
The 20 cent based Super Hi-5 wager now sports a carryover “well north of $150,000” said track announcer Gabe Prewitt and, “could grow to well over $500,000.”
In addition, superstars Tim Tetrick and David Miller will don their silks in the annual Miller-Tetrick Team Challenge, a four race event featuring the top amateur drivers in Florida with proceeds going to charity—in Miller’s case the Make-A-Wish Foundation and, in Tetrick’s case, New Vocations.
“Make-A-Wish has fulfilled so many dreams for children in the past,” David lamented, “and it’s really a pleasure to have an opportunity to make even more dreams come true through harness racing and this Challenge. I look forward to this every year!”
Tetrick echoed Miller’s thoughts by saying, “I am so pleased to be able to be in this challenge because it gives me an opportunity to lend a hand to my chosen charity, New Vocations, which is a Racehorse Adoption Organization. After all, our horses work so hard for us during their careers and we most certainly shouldn’t forget them after their racing days are over. New Vocations makes sure that these horses get good homes forever.”
The Miller-Tetrick Challenge will take place on races one, three, four and six on Sunday night.
The track is also adding a special second Pick-4 on the Sunday program with the first one covering races five through eight and the special encompassing races nine through 12.
Post time for the Super Sunday, Send-It-In program is 7:20 p.m.
